J. Alden Weir |
|
When J. Alden Weir saw his first impressionist exhibition in Paris in 1877, he was repulsed, stating, I never in my life saw more horrible things. It was worse than the Chamber of Horrors. Later, however, he became a convert to the style and enjoyed a successful career as a landscape painter. His large farm in Branchville, Connecticut, inspired many of his scenes. |
