Teapot
1992 |
| This large and dramatic teapot reflects the artist's experimentation with glazes and the effects produced by firing clay in the kiln at varying temperatures. Drawing his imagery from nature, Bacerra used an actual tree trunk and twigs to create a mold for the body, spout, and handle of this teapot and pedestal base. Featuring an unusually vibrant and saturated hue of red, Bacerra's pieces are accented with gold and brightly colored geometric patterns. |
