| he various manifestations of time have been an inspiration for Wendell Castle, who for several years has designed and built provocative, table-sized and tall case clocks. In this piece, Castle exploited the clock potential as a form of sculpture. In contrast to the manifestation of balance and logic at the clock's top, the pedestal base of uneasy asymmetry features two limp and surreal pairs of clock hands that appear to have fallen from exhaustion. |
