White House Vase #1
1993 |
| Traditionally vases and other vessels were made for utilitarian purposes; however, a concern for purely decorative forms has become apparent in the work of many American craft artists. Created from commercially available plate glass, Hutter's geometric and mathematically exact vases are totally nonfunctional. Reflecting the influence of Cubism, Constructivism, and architecture, these vases are painstakingly assembled with ultraviolet curing glue and colored to produce optical tricks. |
