| Influenced by the desert topography of the American Southwest, Watkins's double walled and massive wheel-thrown caldrons conjure up the scorched walls of deep canyons. Snakes and bird-shaped adornments serve as guardians on the rims of his bowls, evoking mystery, magic, and ritual. |
