Artwork Description

Anthony de Francisci’s artist’s strike, or sample, represents the reverse of the true medal and depicts the creation of the universe out of a vortex of forces. The sculptor adapted his image from the book of Genesis, in the Old Testament. Research has not yet revealed the source of this commission or the purpose of the medal.
