Artwork Description

Billy Ray Hussey uses the methods of traditional Southern potters but creates forms that are all his own, drawing inspiration from English Staffordshire pottery and his own imagination. This preacher bank, like many of his works, is both comical and functional. The neatly dressed man grins, hands clasped politely in front of him, while a slot at the back of his neck allows coins to be inserted.
