Art & Me Preservation Family Workshop | Celebrating Cherry Blossoms

Saturday, March 27, 2021, 10 – 10:45am EDT
Just in time for peak bloom around DC's tidal basin, let's ring in the arrival of spring with the art doctors in this virtual workshop. From paintings to Japanese tea bowls, discover how Smithsonian conservators preserve these colorful artworks. Then try your hand in making your own cherry blossom-inspired creation.

This virtual hands-on, artmaking preservation workshop for ages three to eight and their caretakers. The program is part of a yearlong series cohosted by the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art. This program is presented in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Register now; a Zoom link and suggested material list will be sent to registered participants 24–48 hours in advance of the workshop.
