Beyond the Studio Virtual Workshop: Knitting with Amy Wike

Sunday, February 27, 2022, 1 – 2pm EST

Join the Smithsonian American Art Museum for this engaging virtual workshop, and learn basic knitting techniques with step-by-step instruction from fiber artist and lifelong knitter, Amy Wike. Through her work, Wike demonstrates the complexities of language and speech pattern by knitting sculptures based on transcriptions of Morse code. 
 
Please note that space is limited for this program, and registration is required. Participants must register by 7 p.m. ET on February 6.

Materials kit includes:  

  • Pair of knitting needles
  • Yarn
  • Instructional guide and resource packet
