American history is filled with stories of migration. First, visit Tiffany Chung: Vietnam, Past Is Prologue to consider how one contemporary artist draws on her own South Vietnamese family’s experience of the Vietnam War to amplify refugees’ voices today. Then, discover thematic connections to Óyeme, the Beautiful, a bilingual (English/Spanish) play that explores the experience of two teens who have escaped violence in Central America to pursue their dreams in the United States. How can the interaction of fine art and performing arts shed light on this complex and relevant issue?
