Celebrate a uniquely American art form with Take 5: Jazz at SAAM, a series of free, live performances in SAAM’s airy Kogod Courtyard. This month features Sarah Elizabeth Charles, a vocalist and composer based in Brooklyn. She has worked and studied with artists such as Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah, George Cables, Geri Allen and Sheila Jordan. Charles has released three critically acclaimed albums with her band, SCOPE. She has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and the first annual Culture Summit in Abu Dhabi. Attendees can also enjoy playing board games and refreshments are available for purchase from the Courtyard Café.
