SAAM Cherry Blossom Celebration

Join SAAM and the National Cherry Blossom Festival for a celebration of Japanese culture. A taiko drumming performance kicks off the day on our F Street plaza. Afterward, move into the Kogod Courtyard for a day of Japanese music and performances. Enjoy face painting, make cherry blossom crafts, decorate a kite, and go on a spring-themed art hunt.

Full Schedule of Events:
11:30 a.m. - noon Taiko Drumming, with Nen Daiko on the F Street Plaza
12:15 - 12:45 p.m. Japanese Musical Performance, featuring the koto and the shakuhachi
1 - 1:45 p.m. Les the DJ plays an all-vinyl set of Japanese soul, funk, boogie, pop,and disco
2 - 2:30 p.m. Japanese Musical Performance, featuring the koto and the shakuhachi
2:30 - 3 p.m. Taiko Drumming, with Nen Daiko
