About this Car

Sleek and sporty, the Ford Mustang was America’s first “pony car,” a new class of affordable compact coupes. The Mustang played a starring role in the 1968 thriller Bullitt, hurtling over the hills of San Francisco in an iconic Hollywood car chase.

Artwork Connection

Artist Wayne Thiebaud was fascinated by the twists and turns of San Francisco’s streets and the dramatic vistas of its cityscape. His painting San Francisco West Side Ridge defies the laws of normal perspective, accentuating the sharply angled slopes with sharp shadows and a steep drop-off on the right.
