Artwork Description

Although Michael Lee's objects are often small, his dramatic carving emphasizes the density and weight of the wood. Armored Crab is carved from kingwood, a very rare, heavy wood from Brazil. The deep lines of the crab's layered armor and curled legs highlight the rich color of this exotic material.
