Artwork Description
The Moses family called two of their homes Mount Nebo: the last of their five Virginia residences and their farm in New York. The name references the connection between their surname and the place where the biblical Moses lived his final years and glimpsed the Promised Land.
Moses began crewelwork--embroidery with wool yarn--after her husband died in 1927; this work depicts the Mount Nebo in Eagle Bridge.
