Join SAAM online for a Gardens Family Day! We are delighted to partner with our colleagues at Smithsonian Gardens to bring you activities inspired by the exhibition The Future of Orchids: Conservation and Collaboration which celebrates our innate need to connect with nature.

Enjoy crafting activities and coloring pages that encourage bringing nature into your everyday life. Get creative with step-by-step instructions for making garden-inspired notecards and paint rocks to make your own garden friends. Print out coloring pages of artworks from SAAM’s collection and the beautiful orchids from The Future of Orchids.

Supplies Needed:

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers/Crayons
  • Printer
  • Plank Paper

- Color all shapes
- Cutout shapes
- Fold Sheet of paper in half, repeat if you want a smaller card
- Glue cutouts together to make flowers
- Glue flowers to card
- Color/Write in Card
- Finished

- Find a few small pebbles
- Paint pebbles
- Place in garden
