Artwork Description

Roy Moyer enjoyed a multifaceted career that ranged from directing the American Federation of Arts to serving as chief of art and design for UNICEF. Although he was groomed from childhood to be a concert pianist, he taught himself to paint and had his first solo exhibition in Greece, where he lived after military service during World War II. In Lovers in the Snow II, a couple embraces within the protective space of a snowy glade. The subtle color and simplified forms glow with a visual poetry of light and space.
