Biography

Painter, muralist, educator and author. Mangravite's pantings of still lifes, figure groups and figures in landscapes strove to symbolize universal truths. He was director of art education at the Ethical Culture School in New York City and at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronzville, N.Y.
