Biography

Thomas E. Barratt came to the United States after 1833 and flourished in Philadelphia. He exhibited at the Artists’ Fund Society and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work is very similar to that of Rembrandt Peale, and because of this some of Barratt’s miniatures may have been wrongfully attributed to the more prominent artist.
