Artwork Description

La Jaquette Rouge presents a female nude in a domestic setting. Although the figure is not overtly sexual, Brooks heightened the implicit eroticism of the scene through the red jacket, which draws attention to the young woman's nudity. The quiet intimacy of the scene is enhanced by the shadowy atmosphere and the large screen that frames her body and shrinks the space between the model and viewer.
