Artwork Description
Fred Miller used the "stretching" method to create this vessel. He began with a heavy circle of silver that was smaller than the finished piece, and hammered at the center until the thin metal took on the shape of a cup. Miller was inspired by nature and made many trips into the wilderness areas of the American West. The lines engraved inside the dish evoke channels of water, rock formations, and winding trails.
