Artwork Description

This chain was woven using the ancient "loop-in-loop" method, in which hundreds of pieces of wire are wrapped, heated, and then knit into alternating opposing loops. The seam of the chain is produced using a unique process of granulation, a technique that John Paul Miller perfected through years of experimentation. See accession number 1992.107.1 for the pendant that accompanies this piece.
