Biography

Augustus Wilson was known as Gus to his friends and neighbors. He worked first as a fisherman and then as a lighthouse keeper at Spring Point Light in Portland, Maine. He enjoyed carving the aquatic birds that lived near his home and once sculpted a large rattlesnake, which he nailed to his garage roof.
