Biography

Helga Winter apprenticed to a furniture maker and turner for three years in the early 1980s, and attended several woodturning workshops. Her work has developed from simple bowls and goblets to vessels decorated with vibrant colors and surface pattern. Winter enjoys working with wood that distorts and cracks as it dries, and she is fascinated by the patterns of growth found inside each piece.
