Adam (#2)

  • Paul Manship, Adam (#2), 1925, bronze, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Bequest of Paul Manship, 1966.47.22

Luce Center Label

Paul Manship modeled many small sculptures of Adam and Eve, making slight changes in the pose and expression of each figure. These studies both show Adam, apparently deep in thought, in the moment before he bites into the apple.
