Artwork Description

Paul Manship’s work includes numerous portraits of individuals about whom little is known. Research has not revealed the purpose of this medal, but it may have been designed to honor Betty Holter, who wrote for The English Weekly and corresponded with the Bloomsbury group of English artists and writers during the interwar years. This uniface artist’s sample would have been mounted on a display board for prospective clients.
