Artwork Description

Rowena Mora lives on the Jicarilla Apache Nation Reservation in northern New Mexico, near the Colorado border. Mora is a renowned weaver and educator who passes ancestral knowledge to younger generations. This basket, featuring one of Mora’s signature bold patterns, won Best in Show at the 2019 New Mexico State Fair in the Native American Indian Arts Gallery.
