Artwork Description

There is no record of a Miss Georgette Bickley living in New York during the 1930s, when this portrait was painted. It might be an image of Miss Georgiabell Bickley, member of a wealthy New York family, who married Dr. Paul Melbourne Read in 1934. Nothing more is known, however, about this young society matron and her husband.
