Artwork Description

Graeme Priddle reflected on his memories of New Zealand, where he grew up, to create this pair of turned and carved sculptures. The shape of each sculpture emulates a waka, a Maori canoe. The black surface effect alludes to New Zealand tree ferns, easily identified by their dark skirts of blackened, scruffy fronds.
