Late Friday we got word that Eye Level is a finalist for a South by Southwest Interactive Web Award in the Blog category. SXSW defines this category as "Sites that revolutionize the power of publishing by providing regularly updated content of a personal or professional nature." Historically, the award has recognized new blogs that have carved out innovative niches and set new trends in design and Web publishing, so all of us who contribute are pretty pleased. And congratulations, not only to all the other finalists in the "Blog" category, but also to the National Portrait Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art, peer institutions whose interactive programs were distinguished for special recognition in the "Art" category.

Early next week voting opens on an additional SXSWi category: the People's Choice Award. Voting for popular favorites among the finalists is open to the public, so if you're a fan, click over and tag Eye Level.
