Museum Reopening Red Carpet
Guests arrive at the museum's pre-opening Gala

There are just a few staffers who were here in January 2000 when SAAM closed for renovation. I was one of them. July 2006 seemed far away back then —very abstract. So it was amazing to walk up to the entrance last Wednesday evening to see the red carpet and trumpeters hearlding the arrival of guests to our pre-opening Gala. We REALLY are going to open on July 1st at last!

We open in two days.
