Artwork Description

Until we learn more about George Place’s life and career, it is impossible to know if the artist painted this member of the Mayfield family in the United Kingdom, the United States, or in India. The gentleman’s features appear lifelike, but his disproportionally large head and wide eyes create an unnatural composition.
