Artwork Description

Cabrera’s vinyl sculptures take the form of appliances assembled in Mexican factories and sold to U.S. consumers. She sewed each sculpture in a process that echoes factory labor. The strings used to bind the vinyl are left long and exposed, reminders of the labor involved in producing appliances found in many American homes.
