Artwork Description

Vessel #2117 was first constructed from heavy paper to create a pattern for the copper foil. June Schwarcz used strands of copper wire to sew the pieces of foil together, then suspended the vessel in an electroplating bath to build up its pleated walls. Layers of translucent enamel allow the metal to shine through and create a tactile, muted surface.
