Advancing Photography at the Smithsonian American Art Museum

The Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), the nation’s first collection of American art, records the American experience through art and craft. A signature of SAAM’s collection is the more than 9,000 works of photography in its holdings, including works by Berenice Abbott, Roy DeCarava, Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks, Carrie Mae Weems, and many more American photographers.

Suzanne Patrick has established the endowed William Warren Parker Photography Fund at SAAM in honor of her late partner who championed contemporary Washington area artists as a trusted fine art framer and gallerist. The William Warren Parker Photography Fund at SAAM supports the museum’s photography exhibitions, conservation, and acquisitions, as well as educational activities to illuminate the power of photography and its capacity to teach us about American life.

Join Suzanne in celebration of her 70th birthday by making a tax-deductible gift to endow the William Warren Parker Photography Fund and support photography at SAAM for generations to come.
