La negligencia urbana era especialmente visible en las condiciones de deterioro de las calles. En lugar de sencillamente documentar la ruina, los fotógrafos aquí reunidos lograron sacar a la luz las historias incrustadas en el entorno físico con todo su potencial de transformación. Frank Espada y Winston Vargas reinterpretan edificios abandonados, terrenos vacíos y grafitis como reflejos de los recuerdos y las experiencias de los residentes. Oscar Castillo se concentra en cómo los habitantes reconstruyeron y embellecieron sus comunidades de modo intencional. Manuel Acevedo y Ruben Ochoa modifican deliberadamente las imágenes existentes para dirigir nuestra mirada hacia el espacio público que moldea la vida de sus residentes.
